Comfort Zone

Stepping outside the confines of a Comfort Zone isn't easy, but feels less dangerous when an experienced advisor leads the way.

We asked some of our team members to identify their Comfort Zones, and then surprised them with a trip out of that Comfort Zone. Click on the videos to see their stories - expanding their horizons is worth the cost (which, it turns out, is roughly the same as a fresh pair of underpants).

If you're ready to see what's outside the confines of the comfortable, stop by Derse booth #1621 at EXHIBITOR2011 -- we'll be waiting outside a dark tunnel, ready to light the way.

One impossible thing before breakfast One Exciting Thing Before Breakfast:
Schedule 15 minutes in your day to learn the lyrics to "Moon River". There may or may not be a sing-a-long.     Leave your GPS at home. Ask for directions as needed.     Skip your coffee break, and spend that time taking a walk.     Hit the 'random' button on your car radio, and listen to a new station for the day.     Buy one thing at the grocery store you have never tried. Try it.     Instead of texting or emailing, pick up the phone and have a conversation.     Get up an hour earlier (or stay up an hour later) - what could you do with this extra time?     Visit Wikipedia.com, and hit the 'random page' link - read up on something new. There may or may not be a quiz.     Eat lunch with a coworker from a different department.     Borrow a movie from a friend with different tastes. Watch it.     Call an acquaintance you haven't spoken to in years, and rekindle contact.     Unplug your television for the day. Hide the power cord, if necessary.     Try a different route home from work, preferably through a new part of town.     Instead of ordering 'the usual', try something from the other side of the menu.     Borrow music from a friend with different tastes. Listen to it.     Introduce yourself to a stranger on the bus/subway/lunch line, and strike up a conversation.     Write with your non-dominant hand for half the day.
